Contractor Work Trucks in Oklahoma
Commercial Trucks · Trades · OklahomaContractor work trucks for sale in Oklahoma: service bodies and flatbeds, built and in stock
Quick answer If your tools are worth more than your materials, you want a Silverado 2500HD with a locking service body; if your materials are bigger than your tools, a 3500HD flatbed. Carter has 13 Stahl service body trucks and 4 CM flatbeds built and on the lot in Okarche, financed in the company's name with the body on the same note, and delivered anywhere in Oklahoma.
Which body for which contractor
"Contractor truck" covers a plumber, a remodeler, a fence crew and a general contractor who mostly drives between jobs. The chassis is usually the same; the body is where the decision is.
| Trade | Body that fits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Plumber | Service body with flip tops and a ladder rack | Pipe and fittings in compartments, long stock on the rack, water heater or fixtures in the center bed |
| General contractor / remodeler | Standard service body, or a flatbed with toolboxes | Tools locked, materials in the open; a flatbed if you haul sheet goods and lumber more than tools |
| Fence, deck, concrete | Flatbed or service body plus a gooseneck hitch | Posts, panels and bagged material by the pallet; towing a skid steer or mixer |
| Roofing, siding | Service body with a heavy-duty ladder rack | Ladders and long stock on top; nailers, compressor and fasteners locked below |
| Painting, drywall, flooring | Enclosed utility body | Everything dry, clean and out of sight; nothing rides in the open |
Service bodies are the default for anyone whose tools are worth more than the materials. Flatbeds are the default for anyone whose materials are bigger than the tools. If it's both, a service body with a ladder rack and a gooseneck ball covers more ground than people expect. Four CM flatbed 3500HDs are in stock alongside the service bodies.

2500HD or 3500HD?
Most contractors running a service body do fine on a 2500HD: the body, tools and a day's materials are inside its payload, and it fits a residential driveway. Go 3500HD when you tow a loaded gooseneck regularly, haul pallets of bagged material, or want a flatbed. All of our in-stock service bodies are 2500HD; all of the flatbeds are 3500HD duallys. Ask for the payload sticker on a specific unit; we'll put it in your hand.

Financing the truck in the business name
Most of the trade customers we see finance through GM Financial with the business as the borrower and the owner signing a personal guaranty. The truck is titled to the company, the loan reports to the company's credit, and the body is on the same note as the chassis. A newer company can usually still do this if the owner's credit supports it. Loan, commercial lease (Right Lease / Right TRAC) and a commercial line of credit for adding trucks later are all on the table.
- Commercial truck financing: loan, lease and line of credit
- How it works: company financing, co-signers and personal guarantors
- Section 179: most service body trucks qualify for full first-year expensing (placed in service by December 31; your CPA confirms)
No doc fee, no addendum, same price whether you finance with us, your bank or pay cash. Start the application or call 405-546-1147.

Frequently asked questions
What's the best work truck for a contractor?
It depends on whether your tools or your materials are the bigger load. If tools: a Silverado 2500HD with a locking service body, usually with a ladder rack. If materials: a 3500HD flatbed, usually with a gooseneck hitch. Carter has 13 service bodies and 4 flatbeds built and in stock, and we'll walk through which fits how you work.
What does a contractor work truck cost in Oklahoma?
Our in-stock Stahl service body 2500HDs run $63,900 to $69,348 with the body included; the enclosed utility body is $76,573. CM flatbed 3500HD duallys run $65,078 to $76,131. No doc fee, no addendum, same price cash or financed.
Can a plumber use a service body truck?
It's the standard plumbing truck: fittings and hand tools in locked compartments, pipe on a ladder rack, a water heater or fixtures in the open center bed. Flip-top compartments behind the cab are popular with plumbers for long tools and pipe stock.
How does contractor work truck financing work?
Through GM Financial's commercial program. Most contractors finance with the business as the borrower and the owner on a personal guaranty, which keeps the loan off personal credit and titles the truck to the company. Loan, commercial lease and a line of credit for future trucks are all available, and the body finances with the chassis. Details on how commercial financing works and the financing page.
Can I finance a work truck with a new business?
Usually, if the owner's personal credit and the operation's income support it. A newer business finances in its own name with the owner guaranteeing the note; the payments then build the company's own credit file. Bring your EIN and formation documents and we'll tell you where you stand.
Do you deliver outside the OKC metro?
Yes, anywhere in Oklahoma. Free in the OKC metro on purchases; quoted to Enid, Stillwater, Tulsa, Lawton, Woodward, Ardmore and the Panhandle.
Does a contractor truck qualify for Section 179?
Service body and flatbed trucks generally qualify for full first-year expensing and aren't subject to the heavy-SUV cap. The truck has to be placed in service by December 31 and used more than 50% for business. Our Section 179 guide has worked examples from stock; your CPA confirms.
