Quick answer An HVAC truck needs secure upright cylinder storage, dry locked space for recovery machines and electronics, a ladder on top and room to carry a condenser. Carter has both answers on the lot in Okarche: a Stahl enclosed utility body for service work and twelve open service bodies for service-plus-install, all on 2026 Silverado 2500HD 4WD. What an HVAC truck has to do

Haul refrigerant cylinders upright and secured, keep gauges, recovery machines and vacuum pumps clean and dry, carry a condenser or a furnace to a job, and get a ladder on a roof. The body is what makes a 2500HD an HVAC truck; the configuration is what makes it a good one.

Spec it for HVAC

  • Enclosed utility body. A weather-tight, lockable top over the bed keeps recovery machines, electronics and parts out of the rain and out of sight. One is in stock now.
  • Cylinder storage. Refrigerant tanks ride upright, strapped, in a vented compartment or a bottle rack; we install either.
  • Ladder rack. Rooftop units mean an extension ladder on every call. Rack on top, compartments stay free.
  • Open center for equipment. A standard service body's open bed carries a condenser, furnace or air handler to the job on the same trip.
  • Flip-tops for long tools. Top-opening compartments behind the cab for pipe, line-set and long-handled tools.

Chassis

  • Silverado 2500HD for residential and light-commercial service: payload for the body, cylinders, a recovery machine and a condenser, and it still parks at a house.
  • 3500HD for install crews hauling full systems or towing an equipment trailer.
  • 4WD on every in-stock unit; rural Oklahoma service calls don't wait for the road to dry.
  • 6.6L V8 gas: service routes are short trips, where gas costs less to buy and run than diesel.

Enclosed body or open service body?

If the truck mostly runs service calls, an enclosed utility body is hard to beat: everything stays dry, locked and organized, and nothing is visible from the street. If the same truck also delivers equipment, the open service body wins because a condenser or furnace goes in the center bed without a crane. Plenty of HVAC companies run one of each. Both are built next door at OEM Truck Equipment and both are on the lot today.

One invoice, no upfit wait

You don't buy a chassis and wait weeks for a body. Ours are built and sitting in Okarche. Pick the unit, add a bottle rack, ladder rack, inverter or strobes if you need them, and the finished truck finances on one note with the body included.

Financing the truck in the business name

Most of the trade customers we see finance through GM Financial with the business as the borrower and the owner signing a personal guaranty. The truck is titled to the company, the loan reports to the company's credit, and the body is on the same note as the chassis. A newer company can usually still do this if the owner's credit supports it. Loan, commercial lease (Right Lease / Right TRAC) and a commercial line of credit for adding trucks later are all on the table.

No doc fee, no addendum, same price whether you finance with us, your bank or pay cash. Start the application or call 405-546-1147.

Frequently asked questions

What's the best truck body for HVAC?

For service work, an enclosed utility body: weather-tight, lockable and organized, with recovery machines and electronics out of the rain. For installs, an open service body with a ladder rack carries the equipment to the job in the center bed. Many HVAC companies run one of each. Both styles are in stock on Silverado 2500HD 4WD chassis.

How do I carry refrigerant cylinders safely?

Upright, strapped, and in a vented compartment or bottle rack, not loose in a bed. OEM Truck Equipment installs cylinder racks and vented compartments at build; tell us how many tanks you carry and we'll size it.

Is a 2500HD enough for an HVAC truck?

For service and light-commercial work, yes: the body, cylinders, a recovery machine and a condenser are well within a 2500HD's payload. Install crews hauling full systems or towing a trailer should look at a 3500HD. We'll show you the payload sticker on the specific unit.

Can I finance an HVAC truck in the company name?

Yes, through GM Financial's commercial program, usually with the business as borrower and the owner on a personal guaranty. The truck is titled to the company and the body is financed with it. How the structures compare is on our how commercial financing works page.

Can you add a ladder rack or inverter to the enclosed body?

Yes. Racks, inverters, work lights, strobes and cylinder storage are all installed next door before delivery, on the same invoice.

Do you deliver HVAC trucks outside Oklahoma City?

Statewide. Free in the OKC metro on purchases; quoted to Enid, Stillwater, Tulsa, Lawton, Woodward, Ardmore and beyond.

Does an HVAC service truck qualify for Section 179?

Generally yes. A service body or enclosed utility body truck is not a passenger vehicle, so the heavy-SUV cap doesn't apply. It has to be placed in service by December 31 and used more than 50% for business. Our Section 179 guide has worked examples; your CPA confirms.
