We hate to be the bummer during this happy “back to school” season, but that’s why we here at Carter Chevrolet want to take a moment to remind you of some safety habits to practice while you’re driving. It could make the difference for your or someone else’s child.

  • Remember that more teenagers will most likely be out on the road this time of year, driving to and from school every day. Be sure you are on the lookout for any reckless drivers. We’re not saying all teens are bad drivers, but we all know there are some out there. Back_to_School2
  • Mind all rules related to the school bus. This means stopping (from either direction) when children are boarding or leaving the bus, and absolutely no passing a stopped bus for any reason.
  • Obey the speed limit as noted on the school zone signs. Don’t fly through the school zone just because you think there is no child around. Kids can be very unpredictable, and you never know when someone will try to cross the street.

We’re confident that if you’re reading this, you are aware of these basic safety tips for back to school time, but there’s always room for a friendly reminder. Have a safe and fun school year!
