February 1st, 2018 by

Mardi Gras occurs right before the forty days of Lent and boasts a long history of revelry and celebration. Here are a few local events recommended by us at Carter Chevrolet that are happening near Okarche so you can get out and partake in the festivities.

Norman Mardi Gras Parade

Taking place February 10th from 7 to 9pm, Norman will be hosting a celebratory parade in honor of Carnival. There will also be various other festive activities in Norman’s downtown area, including a high school band performance, food trucks, dancing, live music, and more.

Mardi Gras Mask Making

In order to prepare for the parade, come make a Carnival mask at Norman Public Library on February 3rd from 10am to noon.

Crabtown’s “Fat Tuesday” Bash

Head to Pearl’s Crabtown in Oklahoma City on February 28th to take part in a lively celebration. This event is for people 21 and up and will feature tons of food and drink options, a crawfish eating contest, and a King Cake cupcake contest – find a plastic baby in your cupcake and you’ll win a prize!

Pawdi Gras

Add some philanthropy to your fun by attending Pawdi Gras on February 10th at Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown-Bricktown hotel. It will be an evening of music, dancing, drinks, and games to benefit The Bella Foundation and support animal welfare. Bring your dog along for the fun!

Be sure to have an exciting, yet safe Mardi Gras this season.
