How to Pair an iPhone to Chevrolet MyLink
You just got the latest iPhone and you can’t wait to take advantage of all that it has to offer. You can enjoy your coolest funk music playlists, use some of your favorite apps, and make hands-free calls all with the help of Chevrolet MyLink, which puts the capabilities of your iPhone right there on your vehicle’s screen. Want to set it up right quick? Here’s what you need to do.
Step 1:
Go into your iPhone settings and make sure that Bluetooth® is set to on.
Step 2:
On your Chevrolet MyLink screen, tap Phone, then Pair Device. Doing this will make Chevrolet MyLink appear under Other Devices on your iPhone’s Bluetooth® settings.
Step 3:
When you tap on Chevrolet MyLink on your iPhone, you’ll get a pop-up that asks you to confirm a PIN code. That same code will be displayed on the Chevrolet MyLink screen. If both match up, hit Pair on your iPhone and Yes on Chevrolet MyLink.
Step 4:
During the pairing process, you’ll be asked to Allow Contacts and Favorites Sync. Tap Allow.
Step 5:
To the right of the Chevrolet MyLink name, you’ll see a blue “i” icon in a circle. Click that, then on the next screen tap the slider next to Show Notifications so that it shows green.
Step 6:
If you plan to pair multiple phones to your Chevrolet MyLink system, you’ll want to go into your iPhone Settings, scroll down to General. Go to the About section, and you’ll see the name of your phone at the top. Change that if you’d like so that it will be easier to identify your phone over others. The change should take place the next time you disconnect and reconnect your phone.
Step 7:
If you have an older iPhone or other smartphone connected to your Chevrolet MyLink and would like to remove it, tap Phone on the home screen and then the Phones icon, which will be in the lower right corner. For any phones that you’d like to remove, tap the X next to the name and then confirm Disconnect on the next screen. To remove any disconnected device, you’ll hit the minus sign next to its name and then confirm Delete on the next screen. You can also disconnect devices through the Chevrolet MyLink Settings under Bluetooth® followed by Device Management.
Technology sure is helpful, but it can be hard to wrangle sometimes. If you have any questions or issues with your Chevrolet, you need only ask the cargo short-wearing experts at Carter Chevrolet.
