Experience Real Race Power with the Camaro Z/28

April 10th, 2013 by

The Camaro Z/28, which debuted at the New York International Auto Show, is a dream come true for hard core driving enthusiasts.  It is a track ready. Not track inspired, not track oriented, but a track ready sports car.  Chevrolet held nothing back, or should we say everything, for this Camaro model.

The Z/28 has been cut down to the bare minimum in order to shed 300 pounds.  Chevrolet removed the carpet from the trunk, excess insulation, all but one speaker, and even the pass-through to the trunk.  In addition, the Z/28 only has one available option; air conditioning.

The Z/28 will be powered by one of GM’s best engines on the market, the LS7, a 7.0 liter V8 engine that delivers 500 horsepower and 470 pound feet of torque.  In true race fashion, it will only be offered with a manual transmission.  Although this is not the most powerful Camaro in the lineup, the tweaks to the chassis and braking make it the best racing model.  When tested against the Camaro ZL1, the Z/28 was a whole three seconds faster per lap.

The Camaro Z/28 is not for the faint of heart or mind, its motto is “sacrifice all in the name of performance.”  If you are ready to take that challenge, contact our dealership, Carter Chevrolet, and we will get you ready for the track!
