Chevy Releases More Info on 2015 Bi-Fuel Impala
Earlier this year, Chevrolet announced a new version of one of its sedans to their 2015 lineup: the 2015 bi-fuel Impala. Being a dealership that focuses on compressed natural gas capabilities, we here at Carter Chevrolet were pretty pleased to hear that. This new Impala is the only full-size, manufacturer-produced sedan in North America that has bi-fuel capabilities; that is, it can run on both gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG). We find that to be pretty impressive.
Vehicles that run on CNG have a lot of benefits. For one, CNG is much cheaper, costing about 50% less than gasoline. CNG is also cleaner, emitting 90% fewer emissions than gasoline. Finally, CNG is very abundant; it is found right here at home in America. Heck, you might even receive tax credits if you own a CNG vehicle.
Pricing was recently released for the new 2015 bi-fuel Impala. It will start at around $38,000 excluding tax, title, license, and dealer fees. But, the fuel savings are really nice—nearly $1.25 per gasoline-gallon-equivalent. The Impala will run primarily on CNG, and once that tank has been exhausted, it will automatically revert to its gasoline capability.
We can’t wait to see the success of the new 2015 bi-fuel Impala! What do you think of CNG? Comment below and tell us!
