Chevy Cars at Barrett-Jackson Auction Bring in Money for Charities

January 24th, 2014 by

This was certainly a big year for Chevrolet at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction. Multiple high-end Chevy cars, including the Camaro Z/28, Linda Vaughn LV-1 Camaro, Corvette L88, and Camaro COPO all sold for a pretty penny to benefit charities. And when we say pretty, we mean pretty.

Rick Hendrick, Chevy dealer and owner of a NASCAR team, purchased the first production 2014 Chevrolet Camar Z/28 for $650,000. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Cornerstone Schools in Detroit, Michigan—an independent school that helps the more than half of its children that live at or below the poverty line.

Spokeswoman Linda Vaughn teamed up with car designer Doc Watson to bring the auction a 2014 Linda Vaughn LV-1 Camaro that sold at Barrett-Jackson for $280,000, all to benefit The International Kids Alliance Network, as well as Dreamakers, a non-profit organization that specializes in automotive programs. This black and gold beauty is a site to be seen.

The first 2014 Camaro COPO was auctioned off for a whopping $700,000, with every penny benefitting the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.

Perhaps one of the biggest sales of the night goes to the auctioning of the extremely rare 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 that sold for an outstanding $3.85 million at the auction! No doubt this car is the best of the best.
