The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is the time of year for the big names in the automotive industry to strut their stuff, showing off new models, concepts, and more. This week, the 2014 NAIAS kicked off in Detroit, Michigan, and we’re happy to report that Chevrolet has already won big time. The North American Car and Truck of the Year awards were given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, respectively.

A panel of respected automotive journalists from both the United States and Canada select the winners of the awards at the opening of the Detroit auto show on Monday. Eligible vehicles must be all-new or have been changed from prior years. The Corvette and Silverado both competed against a group of 28 eligible cars and 18 trucks and utility wagons. This is the sixth win for a GM car and the fourth win for a GM truck.

Let’s give it up for Chevrolet! Tell us what you think in the comments section below!
