*Carter price is the listing price today, before any GM customer cash or bonus cash shown above, and before tax, title and license. Most of our vehicles have window tint installed; it’s shown as its own line on the listing. Vehicles sell daily; the live Trax inventory is the source of truth.

2.9% or 5.99% + $500: which Trax deal is better?

Take the Trax 2RS at $27,049 after the $500 bonus. At 2.9% for 60 months: about $485 a month, roughly $2,000.0 in interest. At 5.99% with the extra $500 off ($26,549 financed): about $513 a month, roughly $4,200.0 in interest. The 2.9% route wins by about $1,700.0 over the loan if you qualify for the top tiers. If your credit lands in the 4.9% or 5.9% tier, the 5.99% + $500 route is nearly identical and gives you 120 days before the first payment, which matters to a lot of first-time buyers. We run both on your tier.

What the fine print actually requires

  • The $500 bonus skips the two cheapest trims. LS and 1RS get the rate programs but not the bonus cash. LT, 2RS and ACTIV get it, and it’s already shown on those listings.
  • “Top tiers” means GM Financial’s A+ and A1 credit tiers. Roughly high-600s and up with a clean recent history. Lower tiers still get a supported rate; it’s just a higher one, and we’ll show you the credit-union number next to it.
  • The 5.99% + $500 offer is a package. You take the rate and the extra $500 together, through GM Financial, with the 120-day deferral. You can’t take the $500 and finance elsewhere.
  • A payment deferral is not free money. Interest accrues from the day you sign. On a $40,000 loan at 6.5%, skipping the first payment for 120 days adds roughly $850 of interest to the back of the loan. Take it if you need the cash flow; skip it if you don’t.
  • First-time buyer with thin credit? The Trax is the vehicle we put most first-time buyers in. Bring proof of income and residence; see our first-time buyer page for what to expect.
  • Nothing here has a doc fee behind it. The offer comes off the listed price; there’s no second sticker, no “protection package,” and no financing surcharge to claw it back. Most of our vehicles are tinted; it’s a line on the listing, not a surprise at the desk.

Which Trax the offers fit best

Trax LS

The price leader at $24,885. No bonus cash, but 2.9% top-tier financing on a sub-$25K vehicle is a payment in the low $400s.

Trax LT

Adds the 11″ screen, heated seats and the $500 bonus. The sweet spot for most buyers at $26,671 before the bonus.

Trax 2RS or ACTIV

Same $500 bonus; 2RS is the sport look, ACTIV the trail look. Several in stock at $27,549 before the bonus.

Need AWD?

The Trax is front-drive only. The Trailblazer adds AWD and carries $750 bonus cash this month.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Chevy Trax specials this month?

Through November 4, 2026: $500 GM bonus cash on 2026 Trax LT, 2RS and ACTIV; GM Financial rate support at 2.9% APR for the top two credit tiers (3.9%–5.9% below) with a 92-day deferral, or a 5.99% promo rate with an additional $500 and a 120-day deferral; plus $500 first responder and $500 military offers. Carter’s price is already under MSRP with no doc fee.

Is there 0% on the Trax?

No. October’s 0% is 2026 Silverado 1500 only. The best Trax rate is 2.9% for top-tier credit, and the 5.99% + $500 package is close behind for buyers in lower tiers.

How much is a new Trax at Carter?

From $24,885 for a 2026 LS to $27,549 for a 2RS or ACTIV before the $500 bonus, as of October 12, 2026, before tax, title and license. No doc fee, no addendum.

Does the $500 bonus apply to the Trax LS?

No. It’s LT, 2RS and ACTIV this month. The LS still gets the 2.9% rate support and the 5.99% + $500 promo package.

Can I get the Trax 2.9% rate as a first-time buyer?

The top tiers usually require credit history, so a first loan more often lands in the 4.9%–5.9% range or the 5.99% + $500 package. Still far better than a buy-here-pay-here lot, and a Trax payment at those rates is in the low-to-mid $500s with nothing down.

What does the 120-day deferral cost on a Trax?

Roughly $500 of interest added to a $26,000 loan at 5.99%. It’s a fair trade if you need four months of breathing room; otherwise take the 2.9% without it.

Is the price on your website the real price?

Yes. The Carter price on every listing is the number before tax, title and license, with no doc fee, no addendum and no market adjustment. Most of our vehicles have window tint installed and it’s shown as its own line on the listing.

When do these Trax offers end?

November 4, 2026. GM resets the program at the start of each month; this page is updated the same day the new program lands.
