Chevrolet To Offer Unlimited In-Vehicle Data
Chevy was one of the first brands on the market to cater to the public’s desire for Wi-Fi on the go with access to 4G LTE with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot available on their entire lineup. This has resulted in customers using staggering amounts of data, with drivers using 4 million gigabytes in 2016 alone, and now, Chevrolet is answering their users’ pleas with a brand-new monthly data plan that provides unlimited in-vehicle data.
Currently, the largest amount of data you can get your hands on in a Chevrolet is 10 GB. All new Chevy models come standard with 4G LTE and an OnStar Basic plan, and drivers can add on monthly fees for more features and capabilities, with the 10-GB option being $40 a month. Now, however, Chevrolet is planning on rolling out a new plan that will allow drivers to use as much data as they wish on a regular basis. The unlimited data plan will be replacing the 4 GB and 10 GB plans.
Unlimited in-vehicle data is the latest innovation made by Chevrolet as the brand pushes to cater to drivers who want to stay connected on the go. Their consumer base ranges from families with bored young children in the backseat to business owners conducting their work out of the Silverado pickup truck, which makes unlimited data a valuable asset.
