Chevrolet Advertisements are a Hit

The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado was a hit at the Super Bowl. Resurrected this year, the smaller pickup is towing quite a bundle. Chevrolet has seen terrific interaction from customers and viewers alike and it’s all thanks to one advertisement.

“Consumers like it because it shows real people. You can do humor. It can be a little provocative,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevy. “There are a lot of possibilities.”

He’s talking, of course, about the ever so popular Chevrolet advertisements featuring focus groups. The advertisements feature all groups of people: men, women, and children. Each group is shown the same two pictures with only one difference: the vehicle behind them. In one, a Chevrolet Colorado. In the other, a silver sedan.

Results were conclusive: truck guys are more handsome, resourceful, and are more likely to have an awesome pet. No, we aren’t kidding about the whole pet thing – that part came from a focus group of kids. The ads were such a hit that Chevrolet is looking to use the focus group model for other vehicles as well.

“We’re really interested in that focus group platform,” said Sweeney. “We’re looking at using it beyond Colorado.”

Bonus: Here’s an ad for ‘Truck Guy’ deodorant, also by Chevy.
