2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: The New LS6 V8 and What’s Changed

The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is the lineup’s foundation, now powered by the all-new LS6 6.7L naturally aspirated V8 making 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. For 2027 it also gains standard performance exhaust, black exhaust tips, and new Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. It comes as a coupe or convertible in 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims, and Carter Chevrolet prices most Corvette trim levels (including the Stingray) below MSRP, with no doc fees or hidden fees.
The Stingray is where the Corvette story begins — the volume model that delivers genuine supercar performance for a fraction of supercar money. For 2027 it gets the headline upgrade of the year: the all-new LS6 V8. Here’s what’s new, what you get, and how to order one — often for below sticker.

What’s New for 2027
The big change is under the rear glass: the all-new LS6 6.7L naturally aspirated V8 replaces the previous engine, bringing 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque with the highest compression ratio ever for a Corvette V8. Beyond the engine, 2027 adds standard performance exhaust, standard black exhaust tips, and new Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. New options include a quad center-exit exhaust, blue brake calipers, a blue LS6 engine cover, and new full-length racing stripes — plus two new colors, Admiral Blue Metallic and Pitch Gray Metallic. (Full engine detail in our LS6 guide.)
Performance
With 535 horsepower routed through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and the Corvette’s mid-engine balance, the Stingray delivers the kind of acceleration and handling that embarrasses far pricier machinery. It’s naturally aspirated, so power builds in a clean, linear way and the soundtrack is pure V8 — now louder thanks to the standard performance exhaust. Standard mechanical limited-slip differential and large four-wheel disc brakes back it up.
Trims: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT
The Stingray comes in three equipment levels. 1LT is far from basic — it includes the full performance hardware, the 12.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In, a 14-inch driver display, and the standard safety suite. 2LT adds comfort and convenience features like a head-up display, premium audio upgrades, and more. 3LT tops it off with the nicest materials and trim. The performance is identical across all three — you’re choosing how much luxury and convenience you want around it.
Coupe or Convertible
Every Stingray is offered as a coupe, with a removable body-color roof panel that stows in the rear, or a convertible with a power-retractable hardtop that preserves the coupe’s lines with the top up. Both are striking; the choice comes down to whether you want maximum open-air experience or a touch more practicality and a slightly lower price. (See our coupe vs convertible guide.)
Stingray or Grand Sport?
With the Grand Sport back for 2027 and sharing the same 535-hp LS6 V8, the natural question is which to get. The Stingray is the brilliant, well-rounded everyday Corvette; the Grand Sport adds a wide-body chassis, standard Magnetic Ride, available track hardware, and heritage styling. (We compare them head-to-head in our Grand Sport vs Stingray guide.)
The Stingray is still the one that makes the most sense for most people — it’s a genuine exotic-level experience you can actually drive every day. We price most of the trims below sticker with no fees, which in the Corvette world is half the battle. Tell us how you want it built.
For most buyers, the 2027 Stingray is the smart entry into the Corvette world — the new 535-hp LS6 V8, mid-engine balance, and everyday usability for far less than the higher models. Step up to the Grand Sport if you want the wide-body and track hardware. Carter prices most Corvette trims below MSRP and can order either.
