Chevrolet is bringing out the big guns with its newest Silverado HD pickup line: the lineup features changes in towing and technology that will make your jaw drop; the new Silverado HD tech improves steering and automatically adjusts to the road; and the 2016 Silverado HD even adopts the Society of Automotive Engineers’s trailer ratings.

The largest update to the 2016 Silverado HD comes in the form of a Digital Steering Assist system. This system works to improve steering feel, and can also adjust, compensate, and counteract any irregularities in the road.

Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system has also been updated to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Some Silverado HD models are getting a jump in towing standards. Some, like the Silverado 2500 HD with four wheel drive, rated to tow 13,000 pounds, remain the same. Others, like models towing with a fifth wheel set up, change to 14,200 pounds.

The new trailer rating standards were already implemented in the Silverado 1500 lineup.

What’s under the hood remains the same. Choices include a 6-liter V8 that hits home with 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, or a 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel that pounds the road with 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque.

We here at Carter Chevrolet are happy to see even tougher trucks coming out of the Silverado HD lineup!
