2014 Chevy Volt Receives Top Safety Pick+ Award

July 31st, 2014 by

As mainly a commercial and fleet dealership, we here at Carter Chevrolet don’t always get to see some of the newer models that Chevrolet has to offer, but we of course care about the entire line of Chevrolet vehicles without a doubt. In honor of that, we’re pleased and excited to share that the new 2014 Chevy Volt has recently earned a Top Safety Pick+ ranking from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), receiving an ‘Acceptable’ overall score in the very difficult small overlap front crash test.

The Chevy Volt was the only small car out of 12 tested to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating, so we were of course elated. The small overlap front crash test is considered to be one of the most challenging of any head-on tests performed by the IIHS or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

“The Volt’s crashworthiness performance puts it in the top tier for small car safety,” says IIHS Senior Vice President for Vehicle Research, Joe Nolan. We’re pretty proud to be a part of the Chevrolet family no matter the occasion, but especially when we get to share in the excitement of their success! Congratulations to the 2014 Chevy Volt!
