The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently awarded the all-new 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety, which is the highest score possible. The regular and double cab versions of the Silverado are the first pickup trucks to receive the score.

The NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program recently implemented more thorough testing requirements in 2011, making the Silverado’s 5-Star rating a huge achievement.
