No longer will you have to fear scraping or bumping another vehicle while backing up into a tight parking spot. Just let the technology do the work and watch as the steering wheel moves itself. It’s not dark magic, we promise.

In fact, it’s actually pretty simple. The tech uses sensors on the front and rear bumpers to detect and gauge obstacles, the size of parking spaces, the distance to the curb, and the optimum steering angle required to get into a parking space.

All the driver has to do is follow the instructions on the Driver Information Center display. The Automatic Parking Assist will do the rest.

“Even some of the most experienced drivers in the world loathe parallel parking,” said Scott Hollopeter, vehicle dynamics engineer for the SS. “Automatic Parking Assist is designed to help alleviate that anxiety in situations where more experience is required to park a vehicle.”
