2014 Chevrolet Malibu is Stepping Up its Game
That’s right. The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu is going where no midsize sedan has gone before by implementing advanced fuel-saving technology. The new Malibu will be the first midsize sedan sold in the U.S. to offer Stop/Start Technology as a standard fuel-efficient feature on its base model. This is an automotive breakthrough.
The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu has an EPA-estimated 36 highway mpg, and now the standard Stop/Start Technology will help conserve fuel even more. The feature will automatically shut the engine off when the car comes to a stop, and will automatically restart when the driver releases the brake. In the meantime, a 12-volt battery keeps electric accessories going continuously. The technology will monitor various aspects such as speed, climate control, force on the brake pedal, and others to determine the level of efficiency a shut-off will push. Can you even believe this is possible?
The Malibu will feature a 2.5-liter engine that will deliver a higher fuel economy than the Camry, Fusion, Optima, and other similar midsize sedans. It is offered in three trim levels: LS, LT, and LTZ.
The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu will be available this fall.
