The All-New, Electrifying 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV
Chevrolet, you crazy for this one. With the EV pickup truck becoming the next big thing in the automotive world, Chevrolet just went out there and absolutely threw down the gauntlet with the all-new 2024 Silverado EV. Available to reserve now and set to hit the Carter Chevrolet showroom in the summer of 2024, the Silverado EV is, for lack of a better word, bananas.
But we don’t lack for better words ’round here at Carter because we love, respect, and appreciate the power of language. (We also appreciate the word bananas and may use it from time to time.) So we’re fixing to use some of those nice words to let you all know just what makes the new Chevy Silverado EV an absolute must-try and a genuine can’t-miss.
Muscle For Flexing
When you think of the Chevrolet Silverado, you think of that exhilarating thrill you get when you put the pedal down and open it up on the highway. If you’re out here thinking the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV doesn’t deliver on that front, better check yourself.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST offers a feature called Wide Open Watts, and it’ll blow your mind (wide open). With this feature, the Silverado EV puts down an incredible … get ready for this … more than 660 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque.[1] Yes, that means that this Chevy EV is mightier than that other electric truck with the oval on it. And, yes, that means the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is bananas.
Heavy-Duty Capabilities
Now you’re possibly thinking, okay, but an electric truck couldn’t possibly be good for work, could it? You are entitled to your skepticism, but please, allow us and the Chevrolet Silverado EV to put that right to bed with a binky and a blanky.
Made for commercial fleets, the Silverado EV WT is expected to deliver 1,200 pounds of payload capacity and up to 8,000 pounds of towing power.[2] The Silverado EV RST will go even bigger with up to 10,000 pounds max towing.[3] Not enough? Chevy says a 2025 model-year version of the WT will double that, delivering 20,000 pounds of pulling power.[4]
Oh, but wait. There’s more. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV offers the six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate available on the current Silverado 1500, letting you take flexibility up a whole extra notch. And the Silverado EV goes even further with the first-ever Multi-Flex Midgate, a feature that lets you extend bed storage into the cab so you can accommodate items up to 10 feet in length. Which is, and we can’t stress this enough, bananas.
Home On The Range
Okay, okay, so now you’re thinking, yes, that sounds great, but this thing is going to be so much less reliable than a truck that runs on gas, right? RIGHT? To that, we say: no way.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV runs on the new General Motors Ultium battery platform, and oh does it ever run like a dream. GM estimates that the new Silverado EV will be able to cover around 400 miles on a full charge[5] — that beats other electric trucks by as much as 100 miles. Want to head down to OKC? The Silverado EV will let you get there and back nearly five times over without having to stop and top up the battery.
When you do need to plug in, Ultium makes it ultra quick. At home, you can use 120-volt or 240-volt charging and fill up fast, no problem. On the go, there are 40,000 public charging stations ripe for the plugging—including DC Fast Charging Stations where you can recover 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. What fruit does that sound like to you? Can’t quite wrap our peel around it.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is … incredible? Amazing? Revolutionary? These all stick, but we’re pretty preferential to calling it bananas. In case you hadn’t noticed. And if you want a big ol’ bushel, you can reserve the Silverado EV and expect to see it right here in Okarche, Oklahoma, come summer 2024. Get ready.
