New Chevrolet Silverado 1500

As Samuel L. Jackson once said in a brilliant movie about dinosaurs: Hold on to your butts. You’re going to want to have that butt tied down, because the new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is finna blow it away. Chevrolet is busting out a revamped Silverado 1500 next spring, and we’re so stoked about it that we almost think we need a John Williams score backing us up so that we can truly express our feelings.

Meet The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2

You wanted it. You asked for it. And now Chevrolet is delivering like John Hammond. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 promises to be one of the rowdiest, rawest trucks the bowtie brand has ever made — and we know you’re gonna love it like Dennis Nedry loves candy and general untidiness.

What’s in store with the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2? How’s Multimatic DSSV™ dampers, front and rear electronic-locking differentials, and 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory® M/T tires all sound? Great? Good. Because it is great. This is the T. rex of trucks, folks.

The ZR2 will also be one of the coolest looking trucks in the whole Silverado lineup. Not only does it have a high approach front steel bumper and big ol’ beefy tires, but it gets a beastly black grille with a flowtie — that’s a bowtie that enhances airflow, of course. Add a raised hood with insert, ZR2-exclusive wheel openings, and animated LED headlamps? Y’all. Ridiculous.

Even Better On The Inside

You’re going to spend a lot of time in your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So why shouldn’t you have the absolute best? Chevy spared no expense to make the new Silverado the fanciest truck yet, and one of the highlights is a 13.4-inch-diagonal horizonal touch screen that’s now standard on the LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, ZR2, and High Country. And you can make more use of it now, too, thanks to standard Google built-in with Google Assistant, Google Play, and Google Maps.

Speaking of the High Country — the most luxurious lizard in the Silverado lineup — you’ll be getting a truck that’s closer to a bespoke luxury vehicle than ever. (Only, you know, without all that icky pretentiousness and self-importance.) The Silverado High Country offers revamped materials including genuine wood trim and supple Ares leather, letting you sit in the lap of luxury without feeling snooty.

On The Cutting-Edge

When the going gets tough, the tough get smarter. Chevrolet broke out some big brains to make the new 2022 Silverado the most advanced and intelligent yet. Ever dreamed about a truck that can drive itself? It ain’t a dream any longer, buddy. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado High Country will be the first truck in the Silverado family available with Super Cruise™.

The world’s first truly hands-free driving feature Super Cruise™ lets you drive on more than 200,000 miles of roads across the United States and Canada with your hands off the wheel. And because it’s a Silverado, this newest version of Super Cruise™ comes with Trailering functionality so you can tow with the ultimate confidence.

And speaking of confident, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 now offers Chevy Safety Assist standard across the lineup. Chevy Safety Assist include six gotta-have-it features: Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Alert, a Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam® High Beam Assist.

A Quite Mighty Quartet

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lineup gives you the power you need to get just about any job done (excluding creating dinosaurs from DNA harvested from mosquitoes and populating a remote island with poorly thought-out infrastructure). You can equip your Silverado with your choice of four robust engines, including the ever-mighty 6.2-liter V8.

Standard on the mighty ZR2 and available on most other trims, the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. That doesn’t just mean you’ll have a lot of giddy-up—you’ll also have impressive towing potential up to 13,300 pounds when properly equipped.

For 2022, Chevrolet now makes the 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output the standard for the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST Double Cab, and LT Trail Boss trims. This reengineered mill puts down a crazy 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, the latter of which is 20 percent more than what you get from the current-gen 2.7-liter Turbo.

There’s gonna be a lot to love about the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So much to love that you could build a whole park around it. We’d call it — Truckrassic Park. Makes perfect sense when you think about it.

What else makes perfect sense? Keeping your eyes peeled for more info on the 2022 Chevy Silverado if you want a truck that makes the competition feel downright prehistoric.
