Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs. Nissan Titan

Look, we don’t want to go judging anyone’s lifestyle choices. For some, it’s three-piece suits and $50 hairdos, and that’s fine. Us? We like our beards full and luscious and our shorts bursting with pockets. But while we try to avoid casting dispersions, we have to ask this question if you’re looking at a 2021 Nissan Titan instead of a Chevrolet Silverado 1500: Why?

It’s a good question, after all. The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is just an all-around better truck — and that’s not just us playing favorites. Those are facts that are as real as the beards on our faces.

More Power, More Capability

When you want a pickup truck, you’re looking at what it can do and how much of it it can do. And with the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you get more muscle and more pulling power than Nissan offers with its so-called Titan.

Nissan serves up exactly one engine with its Titan: a 400-horsepower V8. Not only does the Silverado have the Titan’s number in terms of variety with six engines to one, but it also gives you more power. At the top of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lineup is the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, an absolute boss of an engine that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. And with this engine equipped, the Silverado can tow up to 13,300 pounds — which is a full ton and then some more than the Titan.

Better Bed, Better Tailgate

Not enough? If you’re loading up the bed with mulch, overpriced lumber, or delicious fried chicken (live your life), you’ll have more space with the Silverado 1500 thanks to Durabed. The most versatile truck bed on the market, Durabed offers best-in-class max cargo space up to 89.1 cubic feet as well as 12 standard tie-downs. Titan can’t touch that. We know because MC Hammer told us. (Editor’s note: he didn’t.)

The new 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 also adds a cool new Multi-Flex Tailgate, which offers six unique functions. Thanks to Multi-Flex, you can turn your tailgate into a step, fold down the inner gate to access the bed, or make a workstation for filling out paperwork. Nissan’s truck is plain ol’ when it comes to its tailgate. It just goes up and down. Where’s the fun in that?

If you’re looking for fun, you’ll find it with the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — available now at Carter Chevrolet in Okarche, Oklahoma. Holler atcha boys!
