Chevy's Suburban is one of the Bowtie's historic nameplates, with a history dating back to 1935. Since 1960, the Suburban name has been used for the automaker's full-size SUV. Now, on the 16th generation, the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban doesn’t see any changes for this year. Buyers can choose from six trims:

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban's cavernous passenger cabin comes in at 176 cubic feet and contains three rows of seating. Most trims get eight seats, but the LS trim offers a front bench option. This is unique among SUVs and increases seating capacity to nine.
Higher trims offer an attractive captain chair option to replace the second-row bench. This reduces capacity to seven but adds two individually adjustable seats with separate armrests for extra comfort and space.
All trims come with a power-adjustable driver seat and tri-zone automatic climate control. Furthermore, all three rows get USB charging ports. You’ll also find a 120-volt AC power socket and a 12-volt power outlet within the cabin.
The 2024 Suburban’s interior has a premium cloth or perforated leather upholstery. Buyers can also choose a power-folding function for the second and third-row seats and all-weather floor liners and mats. There’s also an optional powered sliding console box and a console-mounted safe.
The 2024 Suburban's trunk can hold an impressive 41.5 cubic feet of cargo when all three rows are up. You can fold the third row and get 93.8 cubic feet. Three engines are available for 2024 Suburban buyers, and they all use a 10-speed automatic gearbox to drive the wheels. However, some trims add steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for manual gear selection.
The base engine is a 5.3-liter gas V-8 standard for all trims except High Country. This engine produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Standard for High Country is a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet offers this engine as an option for the RST, Z71, and Premier trims.
Finally, buyers can pick a 3.0-liter Duramax® six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine for any trim except Z71. This engine makes 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The 2024 Suburban range comes in rear or four-wheel drive, depending on trim. However, the Z71 trim is a special off-road oriented trim with only four-wheel drive. This trim also adds underbody skid plates, a two-speed transfer case, and off-road tires.
An Adaptive Air Ride Suspension system is optional on some trims. This system offers ride height adjustment and adds automatic self-leveling. The 2024 Suburban range can also tow up to 8,300 pounds when equipped with the Max Trailering Package.
