Powertrain & Performance

Depending on the trim level you choose, you could find one of two engines under the hood of the Traverse. The standard powertrain is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. It generates 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque.

For something a little bit different, the RS trim level offers a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine when equipped with front-wheel drive. This engine produces 257 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive RS model comes with the same 3.6-liter as other Traverse models, and both of these engine options are also paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The L trim level only comes equipped with front-wheel drive, while the High Country trim comes with only all-wheel drive. All other 2019 Traverse trims can be had with either front-wheel or all-wheel-drive systems.
