2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD
If you’re looking for a badass new pickup truck in 2022, you’re not going to do better than Chevrolet. How tight is Chevy’s truck game? You’ve got not one but two new Silverado 1500 pickups trucks to choose from this year. Whether you opt for the new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 coming to Carter Chevrolet this spring or the new Silverado 1500 LTD available to test drive now, you’re in for quite the trucky treat.
So what are the differences between the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD? Let’s dive in, shall we?
Engines And Capabilities
If you want a hard-working truck, you’re in good hands with the truck with the bowtie on the grille. Both the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Silverado 1500 LTD offer impressive power and capabilities — each is available with the legendary 6.2-liter V8, which enables max towing up to 13,300 pounds.[1]
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTD offers six different engine options, including two versions of the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 and two versions of the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8. Though the new 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 streamlines the lineup down to four, you’ll get a more powerful 2.7-liter Turbo that puts down 420 lb-ft of torque and a 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel that beefs up its max towing stats to 13,300 pounds.[2]
Both the 2022 Silverado 1500 and Silverado 1500 LTD come ready to work with innovations like Durabed and the six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate. If you need to haul some concrete — or be a swell person and help your bud move a couch — the Silverado gives you muscle enough to get the dang thing done and doesn’t even ask that you share a piece of pizza when the job is finished.
Trim Options
Chevrolet makes sure that there’s a Silverado for everyone whether you’re going with the new Silverado 1500 or the Silverado 1500 LTD. Both are available at the following trim levels: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.
But where the new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 differs is the addition of a first-ever ZR2 trim. The most rugged and off-road-ready Silverado yet, the new ZR2 adds upgrades like Multimatic DSSV™ dampers, front and rear locking differentials, and an enhanced two-speed transfer case with Terrain Mode.
If you love adventure, you’ll be able to go out there and get after it with most well-equipped Silverado trims. But if you really, really want to push that envelope, just wait until you get a load of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 next spring.
Technology
Long gone are those days where a truck was all brawn. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Silverado 1500 LTD are both brainy, too, offering must-have technologies like the segment-first Advanced Trailering System and up to 15 available camera views.
The new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does offer more tech than the Silverado 1500 LTD, including standard Chevy Safety Assist. It’ll also be the first Silverado to receive Super Cruise™, the world’s first truly hands-free driving feature. Super Cruise™ will come standard for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country, which also features a 13.4-inch touch screen and gorgeous Ares leather seating.
The updated Silverado 1500 also features Google built-in, which includes Google Play, Google Maps, ad Google Assistant functionality.
If you’re looking at sliding behind the wheel of a new pickup truck, you’d frankly have a tough time going wrong with either the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or the Silverado 1500 LTD. Or the Colorado. Or the Super Duty. Really, as long as you’re going with a Chevy, you’re getting plenty of truck for your buck. Not sure which truck is best for your buck? Chat with your dudes at Carter Chevrolet in Okarche, Oklahoma, and we’ll get you all squared away.
